The Client Situation: 

Driven by a pattern of diminishing sales revenues and profit margins, the client requested The Center perform its “Business Strategy Stress Test” with its leadership team. The result of collaboratively applying this powerful diagnostic process indicated that the strategy the business was operating with was:

  • not clearly defined and lacking focus

  • difficult to articulate and therefore not understood by key stakeholders and

  • due to not applying any strategy innovation methods, provided no meaningful competitive differentiation

If left uncorrected, the client fully recognized these strategic deficiencies will perpetuate the observed unfavorable revenue and margin trajectories in addition to exposing the business to a high risk of obsolescence.

The Root-cause:

The root-cause of the situation was determined to be failure of the leadership team to objectively evaluate and refresh their business strategy.


The Remedy:

The Center facilitated its “Business Strategy Refresh” process with the client leadership team.
 

The Results:

The client organization crafted and swiftly implemented a collection of countermeasures that addressed all the strategic deficiencies exposed by the Stress Test and within four months, reestablished positive revenue and profit margin trajectories.
